The top 8 players at the end of the 12 week season will qualify for the final table prize tournament

Well what a great Final Table tournament it was, with some great poker played. After three and a half hours we finally had our Winter Season Champion, and that man is “Mr” Dwaine Rees. He started the evening as chip leader and continued to storm through the tournament, only losing the chip lead once for a short while.

             Here’s the final placings ...

Congratulations Dwaine on becoming this season’s champion and well played to the other final table players, there’s always next season folks!

And the new Spring season is starting straight away, this Thursday the 9th! So no time to dwell on the past. Let’s get right back in it guys and make that Final Table in 12 weeks time!

Spring is a time for change, so there will be some slight modifications to the way the tournament is set up.

Instead of a prize on the night from now on all of the money collected will go towards the pot for the Final Table tournament for the top 8 players.

The weekly tournaments will now change from a freezeout tournament to a rebuy tournament. This will be quite a major change and one of the outcomes of this change will be that the tournament will now have to start at 20.00 instead of 20.30!

The buy-in for the tournament will now be £3 for which, players will receive 3000 chips. Players can have unlimited buy-ins for the first hour. Buy-ins will cost £3 and again players will receive 3000 chips. Players can only purchase a buy-in if they lose ALL their chips. At the end of the buy-in period players can purchase an add-on of 2000 chips for £2. If a player loses all their chips after the first hour of the tournament (when the buy-in period finishes), they will be eliminated from the tournament.

Because of the change to a re-buy tournament, the blind structures are being amended. Details to be announced.

Hopefully these changes will enhance the league and increase the prizes greatly for the Final Table tournament!

So as we start a new season this week, good luck to all current and any new players and hopefully we’ll all have Royal Flushes and never get shafted on the river!
